When printing, a certain gap between the screen plate and the substrate is also called screen spacing. This is determined by the characteristics of screen printing
The screen printing plate is based on the screen mesh, and the screen mesh is stretched on the screen palte. When the screen plate is in a horizontal state, there will be a certain sag. In the process of scratching, the sag of the screen increases. In order to make the substrate not stick ink when it is not scratched, the minimum part of screen printing plate must keep a certain gap between the screen palate bottom and the substrate. In scraping, the scraper and screen plate are in linear contact with each other. After scraping, the screen plate must be able to return back quickly and separate from the substrate to ensure the quality of the printed image at one time. Otherwise, the printing accuracy will be reduced and the printed image will be blurred. In order to make the screen printing plate have a certain resilience, besides the tension of the screen, a certain distance must be kept between the screen printing plate and the surface of the substrate.
There is a certain gap between screen printing plate and substrate, which is particularly important in curved surface printing. Because in curved surface printing, especially in the case of stereotyped products (such as containers), the impression moves circularly while scratching, leaving a certain gap between the screen plate and the impression, it will not cause blurring or line distortion on the impression.
